The assignment was to paint swatches of black, white, and grey with gouache on layout paper and from these flat neutral hues create forms that would depict two dimensional compositions. This image I created for the assignment is an organic black shape on a white background. Because organic forms are normally thought to have occurred in nature, for this particular shape I chose to depict a human being.
